Hannah & Rodney 30/4/21
Rebecca Greenberg
Hannah came to us in early 2020 wanting to talk about creating some custom desserts for an earthy, vibrant and witchy wedding. She wanted to design a dessert table and a main cake with every element being purposefully curated to meet the brief. It was an absolute joy to go through the details for each individual item, making sure they not only looked beautiful, but tasted amazing. Hannah & Rodney are a gorgeous couple who created an event that matched them perfectly.
The cake we designed was a two tier fully naked cake with the layers baked slightly different shades to create an ombré effect. The salted caramel ganache was also slightly tinted to help with the shading. We paired it with stunning seasonal fresh florals in autumnal tones and a handmade bunting topper that can be kept as a keepsake.
We designed four bespoke desserts to accompany the cake. These included vanilla bean shortbread cookies with painted gold pentacles, dark chocolate brownies decorated to look like quartz crystals covered in moss, mini red velvet raspberry cupcakes with meringue shards & freeze dried raspberries, and orange poppyseed French macarons with painted gold crescents moons. The treats were set on vintage cake platters, dressed with additional edible moss and homegrown herbs.
The entire function had a magical glow as we finished setting up and the guests began to trickle in.
